"The youngest of the Excelo Region Gym Leaders runs the Liodark Family Mansion, doubling as the town's Pokemon Gym. At the age of 10, Darkly got lost in the local forest for several days before mysteriously reappearing in front of the mansion one fateful evening with a Pokemon. Ever since his return, his personality and ideals have changed. No longer was he the sweet young rich boy the town came to know. His childhood had ended early for him, and he now inherits the weight of the family fortune without remorse. Fight against the darkness and claim victory!"

Trivia
 Darkly uses unpredictable moves to tip the battle in his favor. Watch out for Chouverlatt's Wonderland move!
 Upon defeat, Darkly hands out TM66 (Payback) in addition to the Greed Badge.
 The Caroberre Gym offers more payout than other gyms in the Excelo Region. Be sure to equip that Amulet Coin! 
 Rather than refer to himself to his full name, Darkly prefers the shorter name he gave himself. "No time for formalities", as he puts it.
 Outside of the gym, Darkly is an easily irritable person, especially when it comes to matters regarding his age. He'll talk down to you if you don't watch your tongue!
 Gym Leader Weiss often comes over for tea unannounced, much to Darkly's displeasure. The two do get along, however.
