Excelo Region Legend Excerpt: The Destroyer of Worlds.

"In the beginning, there was nothing. Nothing, but darkness. The great expanse of the universe as we knew it never came into fruition. Endless black, nay a flicker of light. However, the wheels of fate has its habit of intervening in our expansive history and gave life to the Original One. Light shown for the first time in history, shining where there was once emptiness. A malevolent figure took notice of this, manifesting itself into the Harbinger of Destruction. It challenged the commandments laid by the Original One, who banished the Harbinger to walk forever within the shadows of its creation. This was not enough to subdue the Harbinger, and as time went on, its anger grew."

"It is in human nature to fear the darkness, the unknown. When the time comes to face this fear, how will we act?"

Origin of Name: Diablo+Devil+Oblivion= Diabelon.
Based on: A demonic representation of the apocalypse.

*After three turns, the Pokemon deals heavy damage to all active Pokemon in battle. It then changes forms afterwards.

The user lets out a deafening roar that ruptures the very fabric of space itself. The target's stat changes become reversed after contact.

Originally pictured here, I decided to give Diabelon a form based on the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs several million years ago. I thought of the ability Final Countdown and thought it'd be a fun mechanic to give our personification of the apocalypse. I'm not sure if Diabelon would need to hold an item first in order to enable this form, but it's most likely the case here for the sake of balance. Will add that whenever I get to making my item list.

Happy End of the World everyone. Hope yer all still alive, heheh. And as planned since the beginning of this year, here's the third member of the main Excelo Region trio and mascot of Onyx, Diabelon! I took out most of the technical info from the image above since if I did leave them in, the artwork of Diabelon would be smaller.
God I love coloring in fire. *-*

The concept for this guy has been existent in my head since the day I redesigned Corodin and Deitreden. It wasn't until recently that I finally came up with a design I was satisfied with. Diabelon represents the great expanse of black in the universe, and the general fear of the unknown. The flaming parts of its body represent a massive asteroid (with a monolith thrown in there as well), which represents its status as the Harbinger of Destruction. Asteroids are also associated with the end of an era, ala Dinosaurs and other prehistoric fauna. The various artifact protrusions are to emphasize how old this legendary is in terms of time.

With a type combination like this, Diabelon has very little to fear. It is the strongest of the two other Ghost/Dark-types, but its stats aren't on tier with most legendary powerhouses for the sake of balance. Its signature move Pandemonium is basically a mobile Contrary, only it doesn't benefit you but brings trouble to your opponents. This makes Diabelon excellent at frustrating teams that rely on stat boosting, able to easily counteract with a flick of a button. Other moves within Diabelon's movepool include many Ghost and Dark-type attacks. Play your cards right, and it just may be the end of the world for your opponent.
